Former Euronews senior executive, Duncan Hooper, has been appointed as Head of Digital Platforms for CGTN Europe, after a successful search by Lumina. CGTN Europe is the London-based production arm of the China Global Television Network, focused on producing news, online and other content to feed into the global English Language platforms of the organisation. In his new role, Duncan will be leading their digital team, one of CGTN Europe’s largest, in overseeing websites, mobile applications and social media platforms.
Duncan joins CGTN from Euronews where he was their Editor in Chief, Digital Platforms since 2015. While there, he achieved many accomplishments from doubling their digital readers over two years to launching social newsletters attracting 100,000 subscribers. At Euronews he was based in Lyon, he will be returning home to the UK.
This placement comes at an exciting time for the company, as they continue their expansion into the English Language platforms with their state-of-the-art office in Chiswick Park in London.
